I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with more than 12 years of experience as a child advocate and counselor. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling, a Master’s degree in Human Services and a Bachelor degree in Human Services. I have hundreds of hours of training in the treatment of trau
ma and has been called to court many times as an “expert” witness in cases of child abuse and domestic violence.
My primary clients are children under the age of 18. However, the entire family participates in the therapy process. I firmly believe that children cannot heal without a strong support system that includes their primary care provider. Although a child’s behavior may be the presenting problem, I will focus my professional attention on parenting and sibling issues, as well.
A single individual cannot be held completely responsible for the dysfunction of an entire family. Each member of a family plays a role in every problem. I assist families in identifying what those roles are and how the family can work as a team to resolve problems and heal from traumatic experiences.
